During a visit to a cathedral in Staffordshire on the start of the week, the King was shouted at by a individual who asked him about Prince Andrew's connections with convicted sex offender Epstein.

The individual asked how long the King had been aware about his brother's association with Jeffrey Epstein, and also questioned whether he had asked the police to "hide" for Andrew.

Amid the heckling, there were crowds of fans and applause for the King, who was in Staffordshire for an event.

The Duke of York's links with Epstein have been under close examination in the past few weeks. The royal, who gave up his royal duties earlier this month, has strongly denied any misconduct.

"How long have you been aware about Prince Andrew and Epstein? Have you asked the police to conceal for Andrew?"

The King ignored the questions but continued meeting fans, some of whom chanted "Long live the King". One fan can be heard requesting him for a embrace.

Another woman outside the venue was also heard telling the heckler to "leave" and to "be quiet".

Scandal Revived by Memoir

The controversy over Prince Andrew's links to Jeffrey Epstein has been brought back into focus by sexual abuse claims detailed in Virginia Giuffre's posthumously-published memoir.

In the publication, Ms Giuffre says she had sexual encounters with the prince on multiple times, including once with Epstein and "eight other young girls"

Prince Andrew, who agreed to a financial settlement with Ms Giuffre in 2022, has repeatedly denied any misconduct. In a previous interview, he told a news program he did not remember meeting Ms Giuffre "at all", and that they "did not have any sort of intimate relations."

Fresh Questions Over Lifestyle and Living Arrangements

But recently, fresh questions have been asked about how he is able to fund his way of life despite not being a working royal.

The disclosure that he has only ever paid a nominal fee on his Windsor mansion has heightened the scrutiny over his living arrangements - even though he made significant contributions up front, including for renovations.

The political party said he should be called in before MPs to give testimony about his lease of his lodge.

But last Thursday, the authorities declined to give parliamentarians time to discuss the royal's status or his home, despite increasing calls for scrutiny.

The royal household has not issued a statement on whether the Duke of York might move out of his home - or where he might reside.
